2016 USRCC Jackalope Challenge weekend

The second annual running of the USRCC Jackalope Challenge was a big success, again pulling one of the largest Greyhound entries of the year and showcasing the incredible athleticism of the 'Coyote' littermates. Sonic and his siblings Strider, Scorch and Wile swept the placements in the Open stake, taking first through fourth, and half-sis Cheyenne won the Field Champion stake. Sonics brother Strider was the Best of Breed winner after a very exciting runoff against Cheyenne, and we were proud to cheer on his siblings. Sonic won High Scoring Bench Champion and was honored to represent our breed in the runoff for the Windwalker Memorial ASFA challenge trophy.

After the ASFA trials on Saturday we held the much-anticipated Bud Lite Puppy Challenge, and Phoenix was runner-up to a very cute and keen little Whippet puppy owned by our close friend Irva. Phoenix can't wait until she's grown up enough to run with the 'big dogs' and neither can we!!

Sunday and Monday were AKC trials, and Sonic ran exceptionally well, picking up more points towards his LCX and MC titles as well as earning the privilege of representing Greyhounds in the USRCC Karmie Kup Memorial Challenge. He won the Karmie Kup last year, and this year he was Reserve to a lovely little Whippet. Sonic has taken me on quiet the wild ride in just one year of competition, and we are still just getting started on our adventures together - the sky is the limit for this amazing boy!!
