Rowan earns his BRONZE!

We travelled north to Logan, UT for the Mount Ogden Kennel Club's first four-day cluster of conformation shows, and we had a fabulous weekend! Rowan won Best of Breed two out of the four days to become the first entirely owner-handled Bronze level Grand/Dual Champion, which means he earned 100 points in breed competition at AKC shows. This is an enormous achievement and I am very proud of what we have accomplished together, and with this weekend he has earned his 'retirement' from the ring. These pictures were taken on Sunday, which will probably be the last time he and I show together in an all-breed group ring. It has been an amazing four years competing together, and it was a bittersweet moment going around that huge ring with him.

Phoenix is starting to get the hang of the show-dog game and had a wonderful time being shown by myself and our friend Irva, and she won Best of Winners three out of the four days to earn her very first points! She still has a lot of maturing to do both mentally and physically, but now she is no longer 'pointless' and I have no doubt we will be kicking butt in the ring in years to come!

Sonic switched gears and had a fabulous time all four days, earning points towards his Grand Championship and impressing quite a few people ringside with his natural showmanship. I think he has grown up gorgeous, and I hope that we are able to find a few judges brave enough to put up a solid, properly built coursing hound. Time will tell, and win or lose he is a joy to show, he loves the attention!
